About the Author: Beatrice Wess

Beatrice "Bea" Wess Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Beatrice Wess and her mother lived in Ashland, Kentucky for a few years with her grandparents. Ting-Ting, as they lovingly called Grandma, was sickly and often in the hospital. Consequently, Bea has strong memories of her grandpa.

In 1990, Bea retired from her 30-year career as an elementary teacher for the Cleveland School System. She wanted to share these memories of her grandpa and, at the same time, offer children an entertaining learning experience of reading, coloring, and drawing.
